Blot stains, don't rub them
Use club soda process for beer and wine stains. If club soda does not work, mix one part white vinegar with one part water and saturate. Blot afterwards. Once stain is removed, rinse with warm water. Place clean white towel over area and weigh down with something heavy. Leave in place for about a day.
Try shaving cream for other stains using same method as above.
Freeze-dried gum using ice cubes for about 30 seconds and then use a spoon to lift gum out of carpet.
Dishwasher detergent vs. grease
The best method to remove grease stains is to use a little dishwashing detergent, such as Joy, in a cup of water. It'll cut through the grease in the carpet just the way it does on your dishes.
Heat wax
Use an iron to re-heat the wax in the carpet. Place a white cloth over your iron, then put the iron on top of the wax to warm it up. Scrape off the wax with a knife. After lay a paper towel over the surface and iron the paper. Keep iron on carpet for only 30 seconds.
